As summer days are getting shorter, we wanted to pass along an update for the 2020-2021 ski race season. To the best of our knowledge, there will be a ski season and a race program this year. At this point, we have no details from Ski Quebec or the Quebec government on their a return to skiing and return to ski racing guidelines. These are expected within the next month. Once released we will have a better idea what the guidelines will mean for our club and our region. In the meantime, we are still actively preparing for the season ahead, factoring in the various ways this coming season might unfold.
We expect dryland training to commence in September. Ryan and the Alpine Committee are in the process of putting together a plan to ensure our racers start the season in great physical shape and they can training safely with physical distancing.
This will be a unique season for all of us. There will be changes and some may not be ideal. We need everyone to understand that some sacrifices will need to be made to ensure our racers have a fun and safe season. We will keep you all updated as the process unfolds in the coming weeks to ensure we can all plan accordingly and make the best of the season ahead. We look forward to seeing you all on the hill soon!
