Fellow Club MSM Members,

It is not too dramatic to say that the world is dealing with an unprecedented health care crisis with the COVID-19 outbreak. Yesterday we saw a series of measures taken locally, provincially, nationally, and internationally that directly affect our Club.

The Alpine Committee and Club Board have agreed to SUSPEND all Club activities – Alpine and Social.

The attached SQA notice (in French) stems from decisions taken by FIS and Alpine Canada to cancel all alpine racing for the rest of the season. There will be no ACA/SQA sanctioned races held internationally, nationally, provincially, or locally for the rest of the season.

The Quebec and Ontario governments took serious measures to curtail public gatherings and shutting schools for an extended period.

Alpine ski training is suspended at Club MSM. This was a difficult decision with the Quebec March break just completed and the Ontario March break about to begin. We feel the suspension of training is in line with measures taken by our governing bodies and serves to cooperate with their objectives.

We realize that this decision has many implications for Club members. We will be issuing further clarifications shortly, as required and when available.

Thank you for your understanding,

Curtis
